Week 15

I cannot believe that I reach the 100 photo milestone in this post. Where did the time go? How did I keep it up? I am pretty proud of myself for reaching here because believe me there are days when I lack inspiration or am just tired from the daily grind.

Another highlight of the week, we finally hit Spring weather. It was beautiful almost every day of the week and therefore we were out each day. Over the weekend we had family fun outdoors. Had our first ice cream sitting outside this year. We have the cutest little farm fives minutes from us that has the best ice cream and a small petting zoo area. Its the go-to place for everyone in good weather and was packed when we went. Zain had a lot of fun looking at the cows, chickens, turkeys, goats and even the mule. He felt so liberated without a jacket on and just had a ball running around.

During the week, we went for walks with our friends and ofcourse the park. It was just so great being outdoors again. Here are my photographs from the week:

Week 14

It seems like life is whizzing by. These past couple of weeks even months have gone by so fast that sometimes I have to take a moment to absorb how much life has changed. You get so engrossed in daily life that you need to take a step back to comprehend all of it. I am so blessed to have the life that I have. I should be more thankful to Allah for giving it to me and say my prayers more regularly, but that is something I need to work on to be a better person.

Coming back to the daily chaos in my life. The week was full of activities. The weather was better, so we took advantage of that and played outside a couple of times. There was one freaky day where it Snowed yet again but thankfully it didn't last for too long and turned into rain.

I love sushi and it is my go-to food for the days I don't feel like cooking or am out doing some activity with Zain. So if it gets too late to cook, I bring sushi home for dinner just like this day.

Day 92
Take away sushi for those days when I don't feel like cooking

Zain loves this play area we have outside our building. This was his first time trying to climb this structure.

Day 93
Play time at the park

Craved some desi food so decided to try out a new restaurant in another town. The town's square was very beautiful and made for a great photo-op, so we took advantage of it.

Day 94
Outside after lunch

Sunday was another windy weekend day. We had planned to go to the Boston Children's Museum. Somehow until now, we have not been able to take Zain there. Every time we made a plan to go there, some thing came up and it would get postponed. So before the really nice weather hits us, we decided to use the weekend day to check out this wonderful Museum and boy did we love it. We went with our friends, who have a son around the same age as Zain and they both had a blast.

Day 95
Sitting outside the Boston Children's Musuem

It was haircut day again! Zain hated it as much as the first time. Even the prize at the end didn't cheer him up too much.

Day 96
Collecting his prize after the haircut

Rainy day brought this gloomy scene with just a little pop of color.

Day 97
O Spring! Where art thou?

Homemade banana oatmeal cookies with lots of nuts and seeds in them to make it a high fibre breakfast or snack option. They turned out pretty good for a first attempt. I found the recipe on Pinterest. You can click on link above and you can view it.

Hope you liked this week's post. Have a great weekend and keep reading my blog. Until next time ☚

Week 13

Last week was all about Easter despite the fact we don't even celebrate it. You start to realize how commercialized all these holidays have become when people like us are starting to engage in such activities. Everywhere you go, there is some sort of advertisement for Easter. The funny thing is you don't get to know what it really stands for unless you read about it. All you see are bunnies and eggs.

The kids obviously love the egg hunts and the goodies filled inside the eggs. The parents get involved in all of this because of the children. Zain is a bit too young for all of it this year but we still took him to a breakfast with bunny event around our area. Ofcourse, he was scared of the life-sized bunny (who wouldn't be in their right mind). We hardly got a photograph of him with the bunny. The other fun thing we did was an indoor Easter playdate at my friend's place. With all the kids being the same age it was great to have a friendly egg hunt in her living room because there was still left over snow in her backyard. I don't think at this age they really grasped the concept of the egg hunt yet but nonetheless they enjoyed playing with the eggs and opening them to find interesting things in them.

The weather is finally getting better and we enjoy going outside to play in the park or just take a walk around the neighborhood. It is so refreshing to be outside and not freezing to death. Here are my week's photographs:

Week 12

This week came and went by too quickly. We had more snow which is not even news anymore because it seems like winter is never going to end. It is becoming more challenging to keep this project going. I try to keep up but lets see if I can make it through the year.

Here are my photos of the week. I was not able to take my camera everywhere with me this week and therefore there are mostly iPhone photos of the places outside of the house but I got some photos of Zain playing in the house with a few of his favorite toys.

Week 11

The past week was so much fun. We visited the New England Aquarium for the first time with our son Zain, who is 16 months old now. This outing was long overdue because either a snow storm or some random event has been popping up every weekend for the past couple of weeks and we have not been able to take him there.

Might I add, Zain has been getting very excited to go see fishies (as we like to call them), turtles, sea lions and penguins thanks to me and YouTube. I have been showing him their videos, in addition to the books and toys he has of these animals. Once in the Aquarium, he was very fascinated by all the different kinds of fish. So colorful and with varying sizes. I think he was a little overwhelmed by the main fish tank in the middle of the Aquarium that is almost 3 stories high. He also liked the sea lions. It was a bit cold where the indoor/outdoor pool for the sea lions was located and he said so himself because we actually went there without wearing our jackets. I think besides looking at all these animals in real, his favorite part was selecting a stuffed animal out of the hundreds on display to take home with him. So we got him a turtle and a penguin to remind him of his fun trip to the Aquarium.

The rest of the week went by with our usual playgroup, library and other activities and it was great. The other highlight of the week was a wonderful dinner and flower bouquet brought home by my husband on a random weeknight. What a wonderful surprise that was and I felt very lucky to have a loving husband and a beautiful boy to spend my days with.

Week 10

What a beautiful week it has been! We hit almost 60°Fahrenheit and it felt really good. On a separate note my project has gone into double figures... yay! Goes to show how dedicated I am to this. However I didn't get around to really write much to go with this post but I have been procrastinating publishing it and it seems unfair to my photographs because they were taken on time. So here goes my week's progress. Hopefully, I will be less lazy next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Week 9

This week marks the end of my Alphabet February challenge. I am happy yet relieved that its over. While it was fun to have to come up with an alphabet related shot everyday, it made it much harder to keep up with the 365 project. Now that the challenge is over, I have the freedom to take the photos of my everyday life again.

So the snow is melting away and the winter seems to be slowly but surely coming to an end. It doesn't mean that we can feel the spring weather just yet, but we have started to venture out more, with several playdates and story times at the library every week. It is definitely much better than the last couple of months we have had.

We have made many plans for this year and it is going to be very eventful InshAllah. A lot to look forward to when the weather finally becomes more pleasant. I cannot wait for our fun adventures.

For now take a look at my weekly photographs below:
